There are plenty of picks to sink our teeth into this mid-week, between the business end of the qualifiers for the various UEFA competitions, Russian football, the second German division and the return of one of the world’s most competitive leagues, the EFL Championship.

While it might seem like a counter-intuitive pick, hear us out.
Sturm have lost only 1 of their last 18 home matches (W11, D6), while Fenerbahçe have won only 3 of their last 8 away matches (D2, L3).
Lyon vs Sparta Prague – Lyon to win (1.55); Over 1.5 goals for Lyon (1.51)
The French side is understandably favoured to win this clash, and rather comfortably.
Lyon have won 6 of their last 7 home matches, as well as all 3 head-to-head meetings with Sparta, scoring at least 2 goals in each match.
PSG vs Aston Villa – PSG to win (1.83); Over 1.5 goals for PSG (1.85)
The UEFA Super Cup is also taking place this week and PSG are certainly in a position of power against English opposition, currently on a streak of 10 unbeaten games vs Premier League sides.
PSG have won all their most important matches in the last few seasons, along the way winning 2 consecutive Champions League titles, and have retained their star-studded squad. Aston Villa, meanwhile, had to rebuild their squad after the departure of several key players, such as Tielemans and Rogers, making PSG the clear favourite in this matchup.
Orenburg vs Lokomotiv Moscow – Lokomotiv Moscow to win (2.03); Over 1.5 goals for Lokomotiv Moscow (1.85)
Off to Russia for this one and it’s great value for both tips.
Lokomotiv Moscow has won 6 away head-to-head matches against Orenburg, scoring at least 2 goals in 5 of them.
Apollon vs Brann – Over 2.5 goals (1.75)
Goals is the name of the game in this Cyprus vs Norway duel and it’s in great part thanks to Brann.
9 of their last 10 matches in all competitions ended with 3 or more goals scored.
Anderlecht vs PAOK – BTTS (1.60)
Still looking long and hard at the goals market for European games and this one certainly stands out.
7 of each team’s respective last 10 matches in all competitions ended with them scoring and conceding at least once.
Rangers vs Jagiellonia – Double chance of draw or Jagiellonia to win (2.30)
While fans of British football in general, we are going against the grain in this one.
Jagiellonia’s recent away record is impressive, with only 1 defeat in the last 12 fixtures on the road in all competitions (W6, D5).
Meanwhile, Rangers have lost 3 of their last 5 home games. Jagiellonia also have the first leg advantage to protect, a 2-1 win from last week.
Shelbourne vs Ajax – Over 2.5 goals (1.40)
Ireland vs Netherlands is up next on the menu and goals are expected here as well.
3 or more were scored in 4 of each team’s respective last 5 matches, including the 3-1 win for Ajax in the first leg.
Wolves vs Blackburn – Wolves to win (1.55)
Round 1 of the Championship is upon us and we could not be more excited.
Normally we stay away from picking outrights in this particular division because of just how unpredictable it is, but this one is simply too good to pass up.
After some very good pre-season performances, where they only lost to Real Sociedad, Wolves also beat Port Vale in the EFL Cup at the weekend and are clear favourites in their home clash against Blackburn to start their Championship season.
Holstein Kiel vs St. Pauli – BTTS (1.60)
We end with a pick from the 2. Bundesliga, where we have a northern duel.
8 of Kiel’s last 10 and all of St. Pauli’s own last 10 matches in all competitions ended without a team keeping a clean sheet. BTTS has also landed in all of the most recent 6 H2Hs.
