So let’s see what’s in store.
Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich – BTTS (1.40)
We start with one of the biggest games in matchday 4 of the Champions League and we simply cannot see anyone keeping a clean sheet here.
Atletico have scored in 19 of their last 20 home matches, while Bayern have scored in 25 of their last 26 away matches.
Manchester United vs AS Roma – Over 2.5 goals (1.45)
Carrick’s team have been in big trouble of late and, while we are not taking a punt on an outright winner for this game, goals should not be a problem.
At least 3 goals have been scored in 5 of Manchester United’s last 7 home matches and in 8 of AS Roma’s last 11 away matches, as well as in the last 2 head-to-head encounters between the teams at Old Trafford.
Feyenoord vs Inter Milan – Double chance of draw or Feyenoord to win (2.01)
Inter will try to get over the loss in the Derby della Madonnina, which we called correctly, and we expect them to have their hearts broken again.
Feyenoord are unbeaten in their last 18 home matches, while Inter have won only 2 of their last 5 away matches.
Borussia Dortmund vs Betis – Borussia Dortmund to win (1.70); Over 1.5 goals for Borussia Dortmund (1.55)
It’s Germany vs Spain in this one and we expect to go only one way.
Borussia have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 home matches, winning 7 of them, and have done so in the most recent head-to-head meeting between the two sides as well.
Viking vs Sabah – Viking to win (1.45); Over 2.5 goals for Viking (2.15)
Two debutants in the UCL come face-to-face in this match and the free-scoring Norwegians are clear favourites, not least due to their home advantage.
Viking have won 22 of their last 24 home matches, scoring at least 3 goals in 18 of those games.
RB Leipzig vs Manchester City – BTTS (1.45) Over 2.5 goals (1.35)
City have a chance to lick their wounds after back-to-back Premier League defeats. Will they win this? Maybe. But we’re going for goals in this one.
In 5 of the last 6 head-to-head meetings between these teams, both sides scored at least one goal, and 5 of those matches also featured 3 or more goals.
AC Milan vs Ferencvaros – Over 2.5 goals (1.50)
Another game that should bring us goals pits AC Milan against Hungarian opposition in the Europa League.
In 5 of AC Milan’s last 6 matches, and in 4 of Ferencvaros’s last 6 matches, at least 3 goals were scored.
Getafe vs Brighton – Brighton to win (1.62)
The Seagulls continue their Conference League adventure with a trip to Spain and they should be able to get another 3 points here.
Brighton have won 7 of their last 10 matches, losing only 1, while Getafe have won just 3 of their last 13 matches, losing 6 of them.
Galatasaray vs Stuttgart – Over 2.5 goals (1.40)
Istanbul plays host to this game where we should realistically expect fireworks.
5 of the 6 games played by Galatasaray at home this season ended with 3 or more goals scored.
Barcelona vs Aston Villa – Over 3.5 goals (1.57)
Huge game in Catalonia as the Villans come to town.
3.5+ has landed in 4 of Barca’s 7 home games this season, along with 5 of Aston Villa’s 8 matches on the road.
Villarreal vs PSG – Over 1.5 goals for PSG (1.42)
While it’s a more balanced game than it looks like on paper, PSG are good for at least 2 goals.
PSG have scored 2 or more goals in each of the last 4 matches they have played away from home.
Fenerbahce vs Liverpool – Liverpool to win (1.60)
The Reds are doing better on the road than they do at home this season and don’t have much trouble against teams below their level.
Liverpool are unbeaten in all of their 5 away matches this season, winning the last 4. Meanwhile, Fener have 2 draws from 2 Champions League home games this season and have lost the most recent match they hosted, 2-1 vs Goztepe at the weekend.
Slavia Prague vs Arsenal – No BTTS (1.80)
Fresh off the back of an impressive defensive performance against Liverpool, the Gunners go to the Czech Republic for a Champions League tie against Slavia.
BTTS has only occurred in 2 of each team’s last 5 matches in all competitions, while Arsenal have never conceded in their 3 trips to Prague to face Slavia.
Celtic vs Besiktas – Over 2.5 goals (1.65)
Trouble is brewing for the Hoops, but goals should not pose a problem when Besiktas rock up in Glasgow.
4 of Celtic’s last 5 matches at home and 4 of Besiktas’ last 5 away all ended with 3 or more goals scored.
Helmond vs FC Volendam – Over 3.5 goals (1.95)
As is customary, we do have a tip from the second Dutch division and, unsurprisingly, it involves goals.
4 or more goals were scored in 7 of Helmond’s last 10 matches and in 6 of Volendam’s own last 10, as well as in 4 of the last 5 H2Hs.
